Classic Chic

This bag is so chic and versatile that I can't help but think that it would match every outfit in my closet.

This great paisley carryall is carried by a company called Accessorize, and once upon a time, there were a few Accessorize shops here in Toronto. I don't know what happened, but it didn't last here for very long, and guess the only way I'm going to get my hands on it is to order it on-line.

I usually hate ordering clothes and bags off the web, since I'm a really tactile person and I like to get my paws on the fabrics and grommets, but I guess this time I have no choice but to suck it up and embrace the element of surprise that comes along with every web purchase.

Drive Happy

I just learned how to drive stick shift.

You don't understand how exciting I find this new, 5-speed driving self.

Of course I was perfectly content driving an automatic car, but I think in this world, it's really important for a woman to be able to do everything!

It's just one more skill under the belt and gives you some more options when looking to buy a car, when stranded somewhere with the only car being available is stick, or if I'm ever needed to be a designated driver. This way I know that I can tackle any kind of driving requirements that come my way.

Now that I can drive stick, I feel like I'm going to be driving more, so I guess I better have my driver's license all ready.

This fancy shmancy wallet by Latico Leathers will be perfect for housing all my ID, plus a whole slew of change for the parking meter. At first glance, doesn't it just look like a pretty wallet/clutch?

Well, look closer and you'll see it has an exterior coin slot mechanism that directs change into a clear window compartment inside the wallet. Basically it lets you slip all those Dimes and Nickles right into your clutch without opening or unzipping anything! Now I just wonder if the slot is large enough to fit the Canadian Loonie and Toonie? 

 

Clutching My Heart

I find the colour scheme of this perfect little paisley clutch absolutely beautiful.

I could carry it in the day or at night, in spring or winter and for a myriad of occasions.

Why do I have this clutch on my mind?

It's just that I'm off to yet another wedding the weekend that I get back from my trip, and I found that this awesome little find from Charlotte Russe is perfect with any dress that I choose to wear.

It will also go with any shade and hue, and adds a bit of artsy flare to any outfit.

The last wedding I was at, I was seated directly next to the bar. So close in fact, that people turning away from the bar would bump into my chair and spill their drinks on me.

I know. It was just lovely...

The point of my story is that with this purse, even little spills and smudges won't show, such is the beauty of pretty patterns that come in dark colours. It also looks great, so really, how could you go wrong?

Hopefully the seating arrangement will be more in my favour for this next wedding and my pretty little clutch will escape any trouble. The only hardship that a clutch should ever face, is somehow stuffing a cell phone, lip gloss and digital camera into it's tiny inside... 

Environmentalists Are Hot!

It's seriously like a hundred degrees here in Orlando. Today I even sat in the shade, and I was still melting into a gross sweaty puddle... lovely huh?

Actually, it really is very lovely here, and I'm enjoying myself thoroughly.

One thing that I don't enjoy, is seeing that the people of Orlando are not very environmentally friendly, and the amount of waste that I've seen produced in one day, just by my resort alone, is probably more than what all of Prince Edward Island produces in a week!

Disney has finally started offering recycling bins in its parks, and this seems to be the only step that Orlando has taken towards helping out the environment. Air conditioners are blasting so hard, that I have to wear a sweater whenever I'm anywhere indoors. People drive big, gas guzzlers everywhere and idle in long drive-thru lines at every opportunity they get, and when I hand back the plastic shopping bag handed to me by a clerk (I put everything I buy in my reusable canvas tote), they usually look at me like I'm crazy, and roll their eyes when I tell them I'm trying to save the environment one shopping bag at a time.

Guess no one in Orlando got the memo about global warming...

So people, please don't forget your Eco-friendly bags before you leave the house to go grocery shopping or to the mall. If you don't have one, you can always make one like the cute one above by alliCdesigns, who sells them on Etsy.

I really hope that Orlando steps up and starts accepting some responsibility for their ways, or else, pretty soon even those up in the Yukon will be complaining that they are melting in hundred degree whether, and I'm not talking in Fahrenheit people. 

Paisley Loves Amerykah!

I received a most fabulous gift for my birthday this year. My best friend gifted me with Erykah Badu tickets for this coming Monday and I for one, can't wait.

Ms. Badu is a lyrical genius, and this guy from thedailyvoice.com even calls her the 'Bjork of R&B'. Now I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I am absolutely obsessed with Bjork, OBSESSED, so I find his comparison to be right on the money!

Anyhow, I will report on the awesomeness of the actual concert on Monday, but today I just wanted to show you this beautiful paisley maxi dress by T-Bags that I could have worn to the concert had it been in August and not May. This dress needs teaming with flats, long beaded necklaces and funky, wooden bracelets, or better yet, just a big chunky purse.

I'm a big fan of this Michael Kors handbag, especially in this earthy brown colour.  

Eva Longoria pulls the look off flawlessly, right down to the sunglasses and the chunky designer purse. Bless the soul of her stylist.

On The Hunt For Paisley!

I've been looking for this Burberry Purse everywhere. What I like about it is that you can hardly tell it's a Burberry bag.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Burberry, it's just that this pattern is so much better than the 'Nova' plaid thats been knocked off to death. 

This satin and velvet purse is nice and flat, can be folded over to fit into the pocket of your tres chick Burberry trench coat, and at 10 x 11 inches it's still roomy enough to hold all the essentials plus a pair of sling-backs.

Too bad it's all sold out everywhere imaginable. It's like two season's old, and I guess already a collector's item.

It's better that way anyway, because my best friend thinks that I have enough purses to accommodate a small village in Italy.

Paisley to the Rescue!

Normally, I'm not one to get spooked by a lot of things.

I don't need to hold my breath as I drive by a cemetery and I can fall straight to sleep after watching a scary movie. But there is one thing that scares the crap out of me. One horrible reccurring nightmare that makes my skin crawl even days after... I can't even bring myself to say it, but I guess I have to, it's... it's... it's a dirty toilet okay?! 

I'm not kidding. I sometimes have nightmares of having to put my purse down on a dirty bathroom floor, and quite frankly this fear follows me into my daytime routine.  I must have read one too many reports about the bacterial content of a public restroom and now wont step out of the house without one of these handy-dandy Hang 'Em High purse hangers. Lucky me it even comes in paisley, and hangs nice and low so that a thief can't reach over and try to steal my purse. Cause that's another nightmare that I don't dare get into right now... 

Paisley Dazzlers

I can't walk today.  Seriously, I think I'm paralyzed from the waist down after that crazy cycle-fit class I did yesterday.  The good thing is that my legs look shapelier already after just one class and I'm now imagining long, toned legs in this killer pair of heels this summer. 

Mr. Manolo Blahnik himself designed this pretty pair and I would love them worn with this perfect little dress. 

I'm loving the navy of the dress playing with the blues of the shoe. Pair that with this Nancy Gonzalez turquoise clutch and you're good to go. 

The shoes could be worn to a summer get together or I would wear them out for dinner and drinks, but there is no way that those look comfortable for a night out dancing, no matter how many drinks you might have had.

Sail Away With Paisley...

I'm going to join a ship next week. 

Yup, down in the Caribbean, and I can't wait to get out of this snowy weather.  I just hope that I don't get snowed out of the airport and that my one week contract with the cruise line that I occasionally work with is a fun one.  I'm also hoping that I'll have this gorgeous weekender bag to accompany me on my trip.

Since I'll be celebrating the Persian New Year right before I'm set to leave, maybe I should give myself a new years gift?

After all, I'm going to be working pretty hard, hopping from island to island, getting oh so tanned...

When I was working on a cruise ship, I was widely known as the dress girl.  Friends would tell me that Alexandro, the hot Brazilian guy from the purser's desk had asked about me, and was wondering what was the name of the 'dress girl' he had seen in Bermuda, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. 

You see, when onboard the ship I was always in uniform, and thus went unnoticeable, but on my days off I always ventured off in a different cute dress and was able to attract the attention of countless gorgeous men.  So the moral of the story girls, is that you should never underestimate the power of a feminine and pretty summer dress.  It always get men drooling.
