So I'd promised to tell you a bit about Salem, MA didn't I?
Here it goes.
About 300 years ago, a wave of witch hysteria took over a small town near Boston, and an astonishing 24 people were killed on the basis that they were involved with witchcraft.
Nineteen people were hanged on Gallows Hill in Salem Town, but some died in prison. One guy was even pressed to death by large stone weights when he refused to stand trial. He survived this brutal torture for two days before dying.
I had a great time walking around the old sleepy town at night and couldn't believe that eerie memorabilia such as the Witch Pins used in the examination of witches and a small bottle supposed to contain the finger bones of one of the victims could still be found in the office of the Superior Court House.
Since Halloween is really not too far away, I thought that this little greeting card is perfectly suited to our spooky Salem theme. It's designed by a Michelle Wooderson, and her stuff is really great!
I just wish that I could actually be in Salem for Halloween, cause you know that the parties taking place there would be absolutely insane. Instead, I'll have to settle for rewatching Hocus Pocus and scaring the crap out of the neighbourhood children. What a scream!
