Look what I found!

Many a baby boys will be happy to know that there is a very masculine looking paisley bedding set out there for them. I'd promised to find a boy-friendly one for my friend Kris, but now that I've seen this, I'd really like it for my own kid one day.

I think that this room would look extra fabulous if it had some plants and greenery like this to give it that warm earthy feel.

Actually, now I'm kind of wondering if there should be any trepidations against putting greenery in a baby's room. Does anyone know if the gasses that plants release at night are in amounts that are harmful to a baby?

I guess if all else fails you can always put up prints of plants in nicely framed arrangements like these. I love the way green and brown compliment one another, and I say that if mother nature picked it for her crazy kids, then why shouldn't other moms?

A Busy Bee

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to update. So sorry.

A bunch of things have been happening. One, I am leaving for Quebec City, Montreal, Rhode Island and Boston in a few days, so I've been trying to pack. Two, I'm reorganizing my closet... yes, I know, it's a huge feat and has me very overwhelmed. Three, the weather has been fantastically hot, and I just can't bring myself to stay indoors, only a few more weeks of summer left you know.

To make sure I finish the summer off with a bang, I'm going to look for this gorgeous paisley dress by Juicy Couture while I'm in Montreal or while I'm in the states. I don't know if you remember, but I'd mentioned before that shopping anywhere other than Toronto is much cheaper and I'm sticking to that notion.

While I'm at it, I'm also going to look for an amazing pair of very high heels like this one from Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B line.  It's simply to die for and I could certainly put it to good use as the new season approaches. Just imagine all the fall weddings that I could wear these to, not to mention all the other soirees that I'll be busy attending.

I'm posting a photo of a wedding cake... so you know what that means!

Yep, I attended yet another wedding this summer.

A grand ol' ball of a time it was, and I had a fantastic experience.

It was my first Ukrainian wedding, and I was blown away by the beautiful church ceremony, the gorgeous venue (the Palais Royale on Lakeshore), the many different traditions including a yummy looking bread table called the korovai and the spectacular dancing (called the kolomeyka) that took place in a huge enclosed circle of guests.

I left the reception feeling stuffed from all the amazing food, and enlightened from having learned about a whole new culture and set of customs. I can't wait to have some of the honey that I got to take home as the parting gift.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention that there were quite a few ladies in paisley at the wedding! I took a few photos and I have to download them to see if any came out well enough for me to post. So Mnohaia Lita (Many Happy Years!) and many more weddings for me to attend! Now imagine all those cakes to come... yum.

I'm Pretty Much Senile

My friend Kris is preggers! Yay!

I must confess that I had a crazy thought when I first found out and I'm not lying... for a split second, I thought:

Woah! How strange, Kris is going to be a teen mom!

Of course, then reality set in and I realized that I'm not a teenager anymore, and that neither is Kris. That Kris and her husband are ready to welcome a gorgeous little bundle of joy to the world, and I should be ready with a paisley item to get them all excited.

So here it is, an adorable little jumper from C&C California to satiate that paisley hunger that a little Kristina is sure to have. Next week, I'll be sure to find some sort of boy friendly paisley item to post.

For now I'm off to check my facebook account and try to see how many more of my friends are having babies. Maybe then I'll be able to get it into my thick head that I'm growing up!

Are You Seeing Anyone?

Guys are funny.

Today an old high school friend that I hadn't seen for a while messaged me and asked me how I was doing and such. A few messages later, I mentioned that I was seeing someone, after which he abruptly stopped all correspondence.

Now, that's just rude. I mean, I get it, you aren't interested anymore because I have a guy in my life, but is it so much to ask that you treat me as a human being and a friend rather than a chick with a potential for something more?

What? Now that chances for being romantically involved with me are slim, you cease all contact?

I just don't get it. When did decency evaporate into thin air?

Now, how does all this relate to my paisley post of the day you ask? Well it doesn't. I just figured you wouldn't mind a bit of ranting from me. And as for today's post, I really like this Ischia dress from J.Crew. It's not only very figure flattering, but it's also on sale! 

Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to make you forget about all the jerks out there!
