I just watched three fantastic documentaries with three of my favourite people. Ever.
In the past few years the four of us have caught dozens of films at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and every year I look forward to not only the festival but to the time I get to spend with these guys as well.
I feel that I must introduce them to you because they are just so very great, and because they are so cool, they instantly make Posh & Paisley that much cooler. :)
First is Riadh, and he's my very awesome karate coach, mentor and confidant. Next is Shima, my gorgeous ass-kickin' karate sister who has just finished her masters in Urban Planning and is about to gallivant around Europe before getting married to her sweetheart named Ram this summer. And last but not least, is my friend Ram, who originally entered my life as Shima's sweet boyfriend, and who has now become a part of my karate family. He is my web guru and my favourite photographer (thanks to him, I always look tres photogenic in his pics).
With these lovely friends, I find that I can discuss anything and everything, and today we were discussing Napoleon, relationships, immigration, museum architecture, and Napoleon's socks at the Bata Shoe Museum. Of course not in that particular order, and in between talks about a million other topics, including a discussion about fake doctors trapezing around as chiropractors...
All of these discussions were had between films and in the fresh crisp air of Toronto's Bloor street. In fact, the weather cooled down just enough to require Shima to purchase a lovely pashmina shawl with a beautiful paisley detail and got me wanting to post this pretty shawl.
This Marc Rozier shawl can be found on Amazon, and can be worn as a scarf in the winter and as a wrap for bare shoulders in the summer. Shima's is a lovely shade of indigo, and I think she has about a million of these shawls in different colours. Then again, I don't think you can ever have too many shawls, just as I can never have too many Riadhs, Shimas and Rams in my life.
Looking forward to many more festivals guys. Many, many more, and hopefully many, many less chiropractors in my life.
;)
