I am in love with all things gold this season. Last month I even bought seashells dipped in gold from St. Thomas, as I refuse to bring home any sort of souvenirs that sit around with no purpose.
Chachkas are my number one enemy, and thus I have promised myself that on my travels I will only buy items that I can wear for an extended amount of time. Big ugly t-shirts with any sort of slogans or sayings are definitely out, as I will never be caught dead in a t-shirt of any kind anyway. This is why I find jewellery to be quite fabulous as souvenirs, so as long as it’s not cheap looking or made of plastic. They pack well and it always sounds great when you say, “oh this old thing? I picked it up in Copenhagen last August.”
I found this gold paisley necklace on the Style-Scene website via Kaboodle.com and I think that it would look great when paired up with one of those gold-dipped seashells that I picked up from St. Thomas. Worn on a different chain, I’m sure a plethora
of charms and trinkets would look great together, like this one on the right from ylang23.com.
