Wow, what a week it's been! One of the best birth-weeks I've had in a long time.
I really missed you dear readers, and I also really missed my trusty laptop. I'd decided that since I was only going to be away for a few days, that it would be okay if I gave myself a mini vacation and abstained from writing. Except that a few days turned into a week, and now I have to figure out where to start with the tonnes of stories that I have to tell you.
First I'll begin by telling you that Montreal is the best place to shop. Hands down. Seriously, pretty much all Canadian stores (like Aldo, Le Chateau, Limite, Urban Behaviour, etc...) are based out of Quebec, so there are all these liquidation and outlet stores that carry current stock at a fraction of the usual price that you would normally be seeing in Toronto stores. I was in shopping heaven, and I'm sure my french friends think that all Torontonians are crazy shopaholics.
I must say, I did go a little shoe crazy. I went there with 6 pairs, and came home with 12... and that's after I threw out a pair that I deemed unwearable. I also bought some summer dresses, a hat, a new laptop sleeve and a few pieces of jewellery to ring in the beautiful spring weather.
I probably would have done more shopping if I hadn't had a crazy allergic reaction that left me looking
like Will Smith's twin in the movie Hitch. I will never laugh at that scene in the movie again, for as long as I live! I will also make an appointment with an allergist and try to figure out what the heck it was that did that to me.
I'll be sure to show up at the doctor's office in a pair of gorgeous shoes, and though I now hav
e an outrageous amount to choose from, I also wish I had this lovely J. Marco pair that I've featured today. I really like how the crazy turquoise panther print is offset by the delicate Bourgeois brooch detail, and how the hint of fabulous paisley just pulls the whole look together. I Love it!
I also love Montreal and the crazy french people that make up French Canada. The style, the flair and the utter disregard for anything with style and flair are inexplicably Montreal... By golly gee, I'm captivated by the whole je ne sais quoi of it all!
